Genus/species: Arisaema triphyllum

Description: a perennial , large (1-2 ft)
Leaf split into 3 leaflets
Flower: spathe with a curving cap: green to brownish and may be striped.

Medicinal and other uses:
Used as expectorant, purgative
Used for colds, coughs, asthma, bronchitis, headaches
Externally used for rheumatism, boils, snakebites, ringworm and abscesses.

Caution: contains calcium oxalate crystals which are irritating

Blooming: April-July
Found in moist woods or near wet spots: found throughout.
