5) As you may have learned in 7th grade, the Oyster population in the Chesapeake Bay has been declining since the 1880's due to factors such as over harvesting, pollution and diseases. The filtering job previously done by the Oysters in a few days now takes a full year. Zebra mussels are notoriously greedy. They actually starve other organisms by removing all organic particles. What effect could the Zebra mussel have on the water quality of the Bay?
