Microscope/ Video Microscope Activities:

 

Students using either their own microscopes or a videomicroscope view as many of the following slides as are availble: a human nerve, monkey nerve, human cerebral cortex, human nerve fibers, and a turtle brain. Through discussion they compare differnces in nerve make-up between the species.

If students have access to a videomicroscope interfaced with a computer they can make their own 'slide pictures' for later use.

If materials are available they may also produce thier own slides to be used with the Video Microscope.

These pictures were focused through a Flexcam videomicroscope setup and viewed on an attached TV monitor.

The images were easily captured via a Mac computer with a videocard and saved as JPEGs for web viewing. Video output from the Flexcam can be
