LESSON I
OBJECTIVE
When given a picture of the brain, students will be able to identify the location of the receptor for each of the five senses.
WARM UP
Close your eyes, listen for 1 minute, write down everything you hear.

INTRODUCTION
Name the five senses and the related organs.
Review vocabulary words, (students may review them in more depth as needed.)
GUIDED PRACTICE
Use charts, posters and /or transparencies to demonstrate the organs and nerve arrangements.
[you can use posters or models of the human body]
INDEPENDENT PRACTICE
Students will identify the sensory locations in the brain (brain picture)
ASSESSMENT
Compare the students answers to the labeled transparency. Answers
CLOSURE
Discuss students reaction to the assessment. (Were they surprised, elated or disappointed with their work?) The next class will include finding out how the senses work. As homework, keep a log of ten ways you use your senses that you had not noticed before.
